The AMP Commando is a specialized variant of the AMP used RDA on the Western Frontier in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. They are an incredibly powerful AMP variant with enhanced sensors, armour and firepower. Its rear vents are covered with armour plating. Destroying it will alert the unit but will expose its weakpoints.[1] They are the hunter-killers of the RDA and are designed for special operations; to seek and destroy dangerous targets with minimal backup. They are armed with the standard-issue GAU-90 and Combat Knife.

Commando Elite[]
An even more heavily armoured and armed version of the standard AMP. The Commando Elite AMPs are trusted to only the most accomplished pilots, this model can hunt down even the most elusive enemy due to its advanced sensors, and deal with it accordingly.[1] It spots a reinforced optical camera that covers 360 degrees of field view, meaning that the pilot would not be susceptible to blind spots and therefore, ambushes.
Commando Veteran[]
AMP Commando Veterans are often piloted by veterans from the RDA's first campaign on Pandora. These suits have additional armour that closes over the cockpit when entering combat, the pilot relying on their camera for visuals. Left in relative safety like this, they are able to focus fully on putting down anything threatening RDA operations.[1]
