Anara is an ikran that was tamed by Faiu.
It is mentioned that although the Zeswa Clan is known as unsurpassed direhorse riders, Faiu, who survived an unpleasant incident with a direhorse as a child, preferred to fly astride an ikran.
Once Zeswa allies himself with the Resistance and begins to communicate more with the Aranahe Clan, Faiu is very happy about this and hopes that now more of his clan will learn to appreciate free flight in ikran instead of "crawling" through the floor.
