Your sister died quickly. You won't be as lucky.
Harding to the protagonist

Colonel Angela Harding is the secondary antagonist of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and the main antagonist of The Sky Breaker DLC.

She is a corrupt member of the RDA who worked at the RDA Extraction Facility on the Western Frontier of Pandora. She is a Colonel in the RDA Sec-Ops who assisted John Mercer with the Colonization of the Western Frontier. After Mercer's death, she returns with her army. She was eventually killed by the protagonist.

History[]

Background[]

Angela Harding's task-oriented nature became legendary as she rose through the ranks of her military career. She tried to be the best everywhere; in fights, in poker, in drinking and also in mockery. With experience in military strategy, counterterrorism, interrogation, and psychological tactics, Harding has a talent for making other people feel especially appreciated. Her soldiers appreciate her ruthless nature and call her the "Angel of Death".

Harding arrived on Pandora encouraged by the prospect of conquering new lands and facing a new enemy, as well as to oversee security for The Ambassador Program (TAP). In 2138, she assisted Mercer with abducting children from the Sarentu Clan, and also had a role in killing the clan. Harding and Mercer forged their reports to the RDA to hide the atrocity.[1] At the school, her direct and brutal methods were a constant source of anxiety for the students. Harding once forced Nor to use a gun and broke his fingers while doing so.

After the Assault on the Tree of Souls in 2154, Harding was forced to leave Pandora with the RDA, but 15 years later, she returned to command Sec-Ops on the Western Frontier as a colonel. Unsatisfied with the gains from her position, she organized a black market operation where some of her most loyal troops would poach the wildlife and steal Na'vi artifacts to be sold to wealthy collectors. It operated out of a Hunting Lodge, then later the Extractor Plant in the Upper Plains.

John Mercer

Harding can be seen in the abandoned TAP base accompanying Mercer, to destroy the students who have awakened from hibernation. When the Sarentu finds themself pinned down by an AMP, Harding pulls a gun on them, but is knocked down by So'lek's intervention. At Resistance HQ, Alma explains that Harding has returned to Pandora now as head of security in Western Frontier. It turns out that during the investigation of the RDA's hunting activities in the Upper Plains, Harding decided to create an additional source of income by selling taxidermy animals and Na'vi artifacts to the rich on Earth.

To stop Harding's hunt, the Sarentu infiltrates the base and destroys the warehouse, much to Harding's anger. It also turns out that Mercer is against her "non-work" activities and orders her to ensure the safety of the mining facilities. After Harding's men kill P'asuk, an enraged Minang of Zeswa Clan joins the Resistance to destroy the refinery where Harding is hiding. She manages to leave, but the plant's activities cease.

During the escape from the Field Hangar Lima in the Clouded Forest, the Sarentu will be able to meet Harding in person again, although not reach her. Harding and Mercer will watch the Sarentu's battle with the AMP while Billy Nash picks the lock on the doors. Arriving at the abandoned TAP Con-1, the Sarentu learns that many years ago, Mercer, Harding, and Alma invaded the Sarentu clan's Circle of Songs to take children from their parents and exterminated the adult members of the clan, after which Yavä' used caustic chemicals to dissolve the bodies and hide traces of the crime.

During the attack on the Omega drilling base, a conversation between Harding and General Ardmore can be heard. In response to a request for reinforcements, the general orders the withdrawal of forces so as not to kill soldiers in vain. Harding complies, despite Mercer's protests, and leaves him alone with the Na'vi invaders.

The Sky Breaker[]

Harding returns and attacks the Na'vi during the Great Games using a decomissioned Valkyrie shuttle loaded with explosives. She and her group, (including her lieutenants : Albert Hinckley, Qui Price, Emmett Porter and Cassandra Slate), then capture Alma and Anufi and interrogate them at Refinery Processor Delta, but with no success. When the Sarentu attacks her base, she fights with her AMP. She is later killed by the protagonist and her copy of Alma's brain scan was destroyed as well.

Personality[]

Harding is an ruthless, aggressive, and determined woman who has little to no respect for the Na'vi, derogatively calling them Blues. She not only was complicit with Mercer's abuse to the Na'vi of TAP, but she also contributed to it, and she assisted in killing the Sarentu clan as well.

Strong and loud, Harding can go from a whisper to a scream in an instant. She can also be condescending and seem like she could explode at any moment, but she always maintains self-control. Harding will do whatever it takes to get what she wants, which is to rise to the top of the RDA.

Despite this, Harding shows respect to her fellow human soldiers and even did so with Teylan when he briefly sided with the RDA. While she is willing to do what she feels in necessary, she also has her limits.

Minang horrified by Harding's taxidermy

Harding seems to have little respect for the animals of Pandora and does not value them as sentient beings who can suffer, shown by her black market and the taxidermy she has. However, she did initially focus on graveyards in the Western Frontier and obtaining the bones of animals that were already dead.
