What do we do, Tsu'tey? Did you see those sky ships?
Atan was an Omatikaya clan hunter trainee under Tsu'tey. He lost his life during the destruction of the Hometree.
Biography[]
Atan, Takuk, and Maru helped guide the less skilled Ka'ani and Saeyla during training. He and the other students helped Tsu'tey capture Jake Sully.[2]
After noticing Tsu'tey in an introspective mood during Ka'ani and Saeyla's direhorse training, Tsu'tey asked him his thoughts on being able to "change the future". He joined in on Tsu'tey's meeting with Mo'at. Afterwards, Atan asked Tsu'tey if he was truly concerned about Jake, not considering the mud-covered alien a threat. He was also dismissive about Jake's readiness for ikranä maktoyu.[3]
After the success of Jake, Ka'ani, and Saeyla's Ikran Makto rite of passage, he was asked to dance by Saeyla but was more concerned about Tsu'tey's current whereabouts.[3]
After the sturmbeest hunt, they all celebrated and started to include Jake in their group. The celebration did not last long as the RDA destroyed the Tree of Voices and the war started.[4]
Soon after, Atan was among the ikran makto led by Tsu'tey to defend Hometree from the RDA. He and his ikran perished in the flames of Hometree while trying to escape with the others.[5]
Avatar: Pandora Rising[]
Among Tsu'tey's Omatikaya warriors, the noble Atan is one of the most introspective and quiet of the clan warriors. Always one to lend counsel or play devil's advocate, he is just as skilled with his oration and debate as he is with his bow and spear.[6]
Trivia[]
- "Atan" means "light" in the Na'vi language.[7]
