Come on, you ain't got no skills.Taunting her male opponent
Basketball Avatar[1] is a member of the Avatar Program in Hell's Gate in the year 2154. She is one of the 20 original avatar drivers.
Biography[]
Avatar: Adapt or Die[]
She was one of the avatars who fell sick.
Avatar[]
When the new arrivals, Jake Sully and Norm Spellman, arrived in the link room, she was just finishing her session, and came out of her link unit with stiff muscles.
On Jake Sully's first day in his avatar, she was already outside playing basketball with another avatar driver. She failed to score and blamed it on her playing defense most of the time.
She witnessed how the RDA attacked the Omatikaya clan's hometree. She was distraught by the sight and decided to defect. She helped Max Patel in Hell's Gate while Sully and Grace Augustine joined the Na'vi.
In the end she was one of the few allowed to stay on Pandora and she guarded the evacuating humans.
Trivia[]
- An artwork of the basketball avatar woman was created for the Avatar: Pandora Rising game, but she never saw an in-game appearance before the game was shut down.
- Basketball avatar woman has a bigger role in the deleted scenes as she took part in the mutiny in Hell's Gate.
- She may have appeared in Avatar: The Way of Water because an avatar seems to be wearing her outfit appears in High Camp, but it isn't entirely certain if it is her.
- It can be theorized that she is an older Molly Ossman from the Nintendo DS game who managed to be cured of her coma, as they are both dark-haired women and there was said to only be 20 avatars as of 2154, with most of them already known. Additionally, one of the other known original female avatars is a blonde avatar driver, unlike Molly and the basketball avatar. This theory would give proper closure to Molly's story. More evidence to back this up is in James Cameron's Avatar: The Game, which was intended to be canon with the film, one scientist around Hell's Gate is searching for a Molly.
