Brown was one of a dozen resurrected SecOps soldiers as part of Project Phoenix. He was a recombinant member of the first recom squad under the command of Recom Quaritch.
Biography[]
Brown was once a human SecOps operative serving under Colonel Miles Quaritch in 2154. At some point during the Assault on the Tree of Souls he was killed in action. Two hours prior to his death, Brown had his memories uploaded onto a Soul Drive, which was then sent back to Earth during the expulsion of the Resources Development Administration from Pandora. This copied consciousness was then downloaded into Brown's recombinant in 2170 aboard the ISV Vindicator.
Avatar: The Way of Water[]

Brown is seen fistbumping Prager, suggesting the two were somewhat close.
The Recom squad tried to capture the Sully children and was ambushed by Jake, Neytiri and Neteyam. Brown didn't survive the ambush, as he was caught off guard by Jake and hacked in the collarbone with a tomahawk before being stabbed in the chest with a combat knife. He is the fourth Recom to die in the ambush.

- According to actor Johnny Alexander, there is a mix-up in Avatar: The Way of Water: The Visual Dictionary that incorrectly misidentifies the names of Brown, Lopez and Ja.[1]
- Although he is not credited and has no dialogue, Brown is modelled and named after 2nd Unit Stunt Coordinator Steve Brown as he can be seen playing a Recom in Pandora's Next Generation (at 03:40) and The Troupe (at 04:41). This is affirmed by an Instagram post by Garrett Warren (on mobile, tap the image and stevebrownwrestler is tagged for Brown).
- According to the patch worn, Brown's original name may have been Gomez.
- In concept art, he is the shortest male Recom.
