The SMP-2 Crab Suit is a human driven multifunction submersible. It is supported by four legs, plus a set of forward-facing arms, all of which can retract entirely when needed. It is used by the Resources Development Administration, specifically Cet-Ops.
Specifications[]
The Crab Suit is designed as an oversized maritime deck hand that could deal with a whole range of different jobs. It is akin to a maritime AMP Suit, as its dexterous hands and maneuverable propulsion system allows the vehicle to traverse and scuttle into coral and plant reefs with ease. When on the SeaDragon's deck, it is able to walk on its knuckles like a gorilla, but in water, it is able to use its prehensile toes to grab onto kelp and other objects.[2]
The main lightweight carbon fiber body is a sealed pilot cabin from which two aforementioned powerful arms and four nimble legs can furl (Sub Mode) or unfurl (Crab Mode).[3] Said cabin is made of toughened polycarbonate that is cabin-rated to a depth of a maximum of 500 meters (1,640 feet), likewise, the Crab Suit's carapace is fabricated from lightweight carbon fiber.[1]
It conducts underwater construction at Bridgehead, as well as assists hunting boats in the recovery of tulkun catches. They can be armed with a Rotary Speargun, aside from functioning as a security and defense unit,[3] they can also be loaded up with loops used for attaching ropes on the backs of tulkun.
