Daisy Cutter is the nickname of the explosives packs that were supposed to be dropped on the Tree of Souls in Avatar, but which eventually failed. Depending on the size of the target, the explosives are packed in palettes of variable size. Each explosive contains an explosive substance and a flammable liquid. The specific ignition mechanism for these explosives is unknown, as is their real name.
Daisy Cutters are UN DOT class 1.1, which defines them as "Explosives with a mass explosion hazard" (as visible on the label). This category also contains Nitroclycerine and TNT.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Daisy Cutter is also the nickname of the BLU-82B/C-130 bomb that was used in the Vietnam War and the ongoing War in Afghanistan. They were retired from service in 2008.
