NO! NO! NO! NO! No! The blasting compound goes back to the mine! What's your name? You're fired!Parker Selfridge panics as mining explosives are jury-rigged as a bomb by his own workers in a deleted scene.
Daisy Cutter is the nickname of the blasting compound used by the RDA for the mining of Unobtanium. It was packed into large palettes and equipped with a plastic explosive on a timed fuse, turning it into a powerful improvised explosive device. It was to be dropped on the Tree of Souls during the failed Assault on the Tree of Souls by Valkyrie 1-6.
Each explosive contained an explosive substance and a flammable liquid. The specific ignition mechanism for these explosives is unknown, as is their real name. Daisy Cutters are UN DOT class 1.1, which defines them as "Explosives with a mass explosion hazard" (as visible on the label). This category also contains nitroglycerine and TNT.
Trivia[]
- Daisy Cutter is also the nickname of the BLU-82B/C-130 aerial bomb that was used in the Vietnam War and the War in Afghanistan, the nickname of which was derived from the ability to flatten a large enough area of forest for improvised helicopter landing. They were retired from service in 2008.
