With your return, Jin saw hope. But I saw the unspeakable evil they've done to you and what they're gonna do to all of us.
Daniela Neves-MacKay, known simply as Dani, was a sniper for the Resistance. She died during the Second Pandoran War.
Background[]
On Earth, Daniela grew up in a harsh place ruined by people like John Mercer and has never known a life without combat. She grew up in an area where gunfights over food and water were a part of daily life. By the age of seven, she was a crack shot and provided rifle cover for her family on supply runs. She was scouted by the Resources Development Administration and trained to be a proper sniper. She met her husband Jin-young MacKay during her training and they were married before they left Earth.
On Pandora, she soon saw the ugly truth of what it means to be the RDA, and their violence against the Na'vi. Two months after landing, she and Jin joined the Resistance when she encouraged him. She yearned for a world where her skills were not needed and believed the Resistance was the best hope for it. She was also excited at the prospect of kicking RDA ass, eager to get into a guerrilla lifestyle.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora[]
At Jin's request, the Sarentu investigates where Daniela was going without telling anyone. This revealed the family dispute, as Daniela refused to start a family while the RDA is hot on their heels. Upon discovering who dropped a mysterious tablet with an awkward declaration of love, the Sarentu is able to ask Dani if she dropped it, but she adamantly refused because she was happily married.
During the party, the Sarentu talked to Dani, and she told them that she is not happy that Billy Nash brought weapons to the party. Daniela lost her life in the RDA bombing of the first Resistance HQ.
At Jin's suggestion, a memorial was organized at the shelter to honor the victims, and Daniela's photograph is added to the others. Jin hoped that if there was an afterlife that Dani could listen to all the kind words they said to her.
