She was an intense, headstrong child, often running off on her own. While her father Ka’nat sometimes frowned, her mother Asahe encouraged her and covered up for her, forging a strong bond. Her mother taught her the ways of the kinglor, but also took her on adventures, teaching her how to craft and use a bow.
When the RDA returned to Pandora, Asahe tried to help the Resistance and was shot and killed during an RDA ambush. Etuwa now seeks to help the kinglor and honor her mother's memory by pushing back against the RDA. Her father Ka'nat, however, fears the complete destruction of the clan if the RDA turn their attention to them, putting Etuwa in a difficult position as a young tsahìk. She realizes the clan does not trust her due to her lack of experience as a leader, and Ka'nat often rejects his daughter's advice, viewing her as reckless and immature. As a result, the clan looks solely to Ka'nat for guidance.

Etuwa notices the Sarentu's mark
Etuwa was first seen by the Sarentu outside a Resistance research station, where the young tsahìk arrives on her ikran. She helps defeat the RDA soldiers and then carry the wounded off the battlefield. She initiates a conversation with the protagonist and recognizes them as a member of the Sarentu clan by their mark, and then invites them to her clan's hometree.
Etuwa and the Sarentu are reunited at the kinglors' nest in the hometree, where Etuwa points out the excessive nesting of the insects in the Na'vi village. She also remembers her mother, who had the habit of visiting the nest every morning and the kinglors felt comfortable with her. When Vefilu arrives with information that Eetu has disappeared, Etuwa wants to go look for him, but the protagonist advises her to stay in the village.

Together with Nefika, they decide to subject the Sarentu to the Kinglor Queen ritual in the glade of light and Etuwa goes to escort the Kinglor Queen to the place, meanwhile Nefika asks the Sarentu to collect the nectar necessary to prepare the niktsyey drink. After completing the task, the Sarentu heads to the glade, where Etuwa and Nefika subject the protagonist to a ritual in which they connect with the Kinglor Queen through the tsaheylu. The queen shows them a vision in which she unsuccessfully searches for feeding grounds for her charges, because they are blocked by flying RDA machines that generate deterrent radio signals. At the end of the vision, she finds Etuwa and sits on her hand, thus showing her trust in her.
After they wake up, they tell Etuwa what they saw in the vision, confirming the young tsahìk's suspicions about the reason for the kinglors' unusual behavior. She wants to destroy the flying machines without delay and comes to the conclusion that the protagonist must tame their own ikran to join the fight. Etuwa works with the Sarentu and the Resistance to help the kinglor, finding the RDA to be behind the cause of their stress.

Once the Sarentu receives an ikran, the Sarentu and Etuwa have a talk on the mountains. She complains about her clan perceives as her father's daughter and not the Tsahìk. Etuwa talks about her childhood memories with her mother who told her stories about the kinglor. Their discussion then becomes about how awful and greedy the Sky People are. The Sarentu and Etuwa decide to attack an RDA base, and although they clear the outpost, Etuwa is attacked by an RDA Scorpion. Etuwa is found unconscious with her ikran protecting her, suggesting she has a mild concussion. Etuwa is brought back to the Hometree by her ikran.
Ka'nat finally listens to Etuwa.
Inside, Etuwa is able to awaken from her temporary coma. The kinglor become healthy, and Etuwa explains why the kinglor were driven from their nests. Etuwa blames the rest of the clan for not believing her, and compliments the Sarentu for saving the kinglor. This finally gains new respect from her clan and is finally able to make her father see that fighting the RDA is inevitable if they want Pandora to survive. She now honors her mother's memory not just with her own acts of resistance against the RDA, but also by tending to the kinglor as they begin to leave Hometree.
Personality[]
Etuwa is usually boiling with restless energy. She uses big hand gestures when speaking, constantly trying to get people on board with her vision. She speaks rather loudly for an Aranahe, but is calmer and gentler with the Kinglor. She is stubborn and rebellious, unwilling to stand idly as the RDA subjugates the Na'vi and destroys Pandora. She would have an easier life with the clan if she adhered to tradition, but she is determined to fight for a better future, no matter the cost.
Relationships[]
Ka'nat[]
Etuwa and her father never developed a deep bond. Unlike her and her mother, who were close, Ka'nat remained distant, keeping her feet on the ground and peace in her clan. The rift between father and daughter deepened after Asahe's death, when Etuwa assumed the title of tsahìk, but had completely different goals than her father. Even though she wanted to fight the RDA, Ka'nat wanted to protect her, to avoid sharing the same fate as her mother. Ironically, Asahe's death only made Etuwa even more eager to fight the battle, Ka'nat desperately wanted to avoid. Their conflict led to situations where Etuwa did many things without her father's knowledge, such as actively fighting the RDA. It was only when Etuwa was wounded in battle and spoke of Sarentu's role in her defense and her actions helping the kinglors, that Ka'nat was convinced of her daughter's point of view and finally agreed to let them and the Aranahe clan join the Resistance.
Asahe[]
Etuwa's mother was a key influence in her upbringing. Asahe not only provided her with warmth and maternal care, but also taught her how to fight and craft items. Since they both had common views and ideals, Asahe often defended her daughter from her strict father. Although Etuwa was deeply affected by the death of her mother, she inherited her optimism, her spontaneous attitude towards life and her will to act, which are reflected in each of her actions.
The Sarentu[]
Generally solitary in her actions, Etuwa saw in the Sarentu an ally, and saw their enormous combat potential. She trusted the protagonist very quickly, even though they did not belong to her clan. Together with Nefika, she initiated them into the Aranahe culture, against Ka'nat's will, and also entrusted them with the important mission of helping the kinglors. Etuwa, in turn, is an authority for the Sarentu and a model of courage and fidelity for their ideals. The Sarentu admits many times that they would like to be like Etuwa.
