The Fishing Spear [1] is a traditional hunting weapon used and created by the Metkayina Clan on Pandora.[2]
Materials and Construction[]
It is regarded as an integral tool of the Metkayina culture and has two similar but basic designs that are equally functional.[1] Metkayinans may decorate and personalize their spears with individual adornments that reflect their position in the community as well as their personalities.[1]
The spear itself is designed to be a simple lance that is hydrodynamic.[1] Some spears are carved with an insect crystal spearhead,[1] whilst others are sharpened wood or bone.[2] Occasionally, some members of the clan may put their spears on a Speargun to act as a de facto missile.[2]
