The fog bloom (Na'vi name: srätayng), like the rain thistle and sailfin blossom is one of a family of fiber-producing plants that is common to the Western Frontier.

From a root base that favors sodden, moss-covered ground, a spray of feathery leaves grows. From the center of these leaves, several tall and distinctive stems grow. Each of these stems are covered with ribbony leaves that curve upwards, but only the tallest stem is crowned by a single, hard and shell-like flower, protected by a great profusion of these leaves. In dense fog, this bloom opens to reveal a "boll" of fine, dense fibers surrounding the plant's seedpod.

The fog bloom, like the rest of its genus, is extremely adept at regulating its moisture levels which is linked to how the plant pollinates. The fibrous head of the plant maintains a constant moisture level, the fibers in the plant head acting as a freshwater store regulated by a great deal of aspiration on the main plant body.

The fog bloom favors mossy ground and damp conditions.

Gathering and Crafting[]

Fog bloom flowers can be most commonly found near water in the Shallow Bog biome of the Clouded Forest. Rarer specimens can be found in the Weary Swamp in the north of the Clouded Forest. Best-quality specimens can be harvested in the daytime. The fiber can only be harvested in foggy weather.

When Fog Bloom Fiber is used as a crafting material, the resulting waist gear will give the player an additional 3% ranged resistance when worn.
