The Harpoon Torpedo is a torpedo in the form of harpoon with an inflatable lift bag used by Cet-Ops for hunting tulkun.[1] A Mako Submersible can hold up to four of these in a single dive.[2][3]

The Harpoon Torpedo is basically a rocket-propelled torpedo[4] that was repurposed for non-military whaling means. The explosive charge that typically comprise a torpedo has been replaced by a large, hydrodynamic arrowhead that can pierce the thick hide of a tulkun.[3] Once the torpedo is embedded, the orange gas bags would inflate with lighter-than-air gas, creating drag and lifting the tulkun up to the surface for easy hunting. Despite its non-military nature, it can be repurposed to kill underwater threats.[3]
