Hawnutu'un was a Na'vi of the Trr'ong Clan. He was the founder of the clan and was a famous hero in his clan, celebrated in songs and stories.
It is also said that he answered the call of the first Toruk Makto.

3000 years ago, Hawnutu'un bore the burden of great pain and loneliness and so he set on the Path of the Promiser. He climbed the Ayram Alusìng and held the blossom of the lortsyawll. From there he saw the place that will become his clan's home but his journey continued. He tamed a palulukan and "walked with darkness and death." Next he clothed himself in the armor shells of the txursum and entered the lair of the nantang. His journey ended when he reached the western edge of the land where the midwinter stars dip into the sky. He returned to the forest and founded the Trr'ong clan.
He was among the Na'vi that answered Entu's call when the Tree of Souls risked being destroyed by a volcano. He was one of those that broke the rocks holding the water.
In 2154, his memory appeared to So'lek at the Tree of Voices and told him his story.
In 2158 So'lek learns that Hawnutu'un is also remembered in Anurai legend and paintings.
