The Heavy Bow is an extremely large bow used and made by the Na'vi clans of the Western Frontier[1]. Roughly equivalent to the Direhorse Bow of the eastern clans at least in terms of size, the Heavy Bow is considered the heavy duty weapon of the bow family
Materials and Construction[]
The Heavy Bow is a bow made up of extremely rigid, reinforced wood supported by multiple wrappings of high-tensile rope to ensure its structure remains stable[1]. This is necessary given the extreme kinetic stress being taken when pulled. As the largest bow of the Na'vi, the Heavy Bow possess the greatest range, the most powerful speed and the highest accuracy out of any Na'vi weapon[1]. But this comes at the cost of mobility, as its large and ungainly size limits the movement of the user[1].
In Game[]
In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the Heavy Bow is the Na'vi equivalent of the M83 Rocket Launcher, an extremely large, heavy weapon used for anti-armour purposes. Due to its sheer size and power, the Heavy Bow is recommended to be used against megafauna and AMP suits and, outside of the RPG, the Heavy Bow is considered the best weapon against AMP suits.
Like all bows, the Heavy Bow is an incredibly versatile weapon, capable of firing a wide range of arrows. There is the regular Hunting Arrows (The cheapest and most stock-standard arrow to make), the Shellbreaker Arrows (Armour-piercing arrows meant for megafaunas and vehicles), Poisoned Arrows (Which releases a cloud of poison upon impact) and Flame Arrows (Which light the target on fire)
