Heykinak lost her best friend at a young age to a thanator attack. It happened despite all the precautions the clan put in place to guard against it. Since then, she's fostered the attitude that there's no point in thinking about the future. The end could come at any moment, and even the best laid plans won't prevent it.
She has a friend and balancing force in Zamhil, who encourages her to plan more and take fewer risks. Heykinak sometimes feels Zamhil is holding her back, while her own carelessness causes friction in the friendship.
Heykinak is a skilled weapon crafter among the clan, and is always willing to share her designs.
