Houtun, as well as Akeylong, are familiar with Raven's parents and they worked together to destroy RDA bases. Houtun also taught Raven's parents how to fly using wing-gliders.
Although Houtun wished for them to stay and considered Raven's parents friends of the clan, Raven's parents moved on to assist more clans.

Houtun saw Raven attacked by the fanged mongrels and came to their assistance.[1] Due to being familiar with Raven's parents, Houtun trusts Raven more than the other clan members.
Houtun assists Raven in fighting against the RDA in the Highlands, going against Eaton Roberts.
Later, because Houtun does not like to stay in one place for too long, he goes to the lands of the Anurai Clan. Along with Liani, Houtun and the Anurai would assist Raven in fighting Trinity Harper and her Black Squad.
