The Longbow is a large bow used and made by the Na'vi clans of the Western Frontier[1]. Roughly equivalent to the Bow of the eastern clans at least in terms of size, the Longbow is considered as the Western Na'vi's standard-issue hunting weapon.
Materials and Construction[]
The Longbow is a bow made up of flexible wood, string and animal gut that is decorated with charms and ritualistic animal bones[1]. Due to its increased length compared to regular Hunting Bows, the Longbow offers greater range and penetrative power than bows of smaller profiles. But despite the increased power, it is still second compared to the Heavy Bow[1].
In Game[]
In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the Longbow is considered the starting Na'vi weapon for the player. It is very versatile and well-balanced weapon, capable of superb range, accuracy and power. As a Na'vi weapon, the player could opt for a wide variety of ammunition types. This includes Hunting Arrows (Which are the basic, cheapest and easiest arrow to make), Poisoned Arrows (Releases a cloud of poison upon impact), Grenade Arrows (Release a cluster of explosive grenades upon impact), Flame Arrows (Set the target on fire) and Storm Arrows (Paralyzes the target with electric shocks).
