A born performer, Lurei demands to be the center of attention at all times. She loves to debate clan philosophies and likes to keep things interesting. She'd be a sore loser if she ever lost.
Lurei was born to Nefika and Ongwi before their relationship ended and he paired with Kitangi instead. Nefika was always quite distant as a mother, more focused on her art and her position in the clan. Lurei compensated for this by becoming a leader with the children, making cliques and learning how far she could push things - both as a result of her own ego, and a bid to get her mother's attention.
During her teenage years, Lurei and Nefika clashed a great deal as Nefika's expectations for her were high, and somewhat motivated by who she wished she had been during her youth. Their relationship became colder as Lurei became invested in music and kinglor care instead of weaving to spite Nefika. Yet Lurei attempts to emulate her mother in many ways, since, in her heart, she truly admires her.
Lurei was once taught how to play an instrument by her Zeswa friends who would practice together in the Glade of Light.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora[]
In search of Vu'an, the Sarentu arrives at the Shady Grove camp, where Lurei is playing music: they are surprised that Vu'an has not returned yet, because they greatly appreciates her performances, and Lurei tells them where to find her. Lurei is bothered by RDA soldiers moving boxes back and forth at the nearby Cargo Transfer Site Bravo, and asks the Sarentu to help her figure out what's going on there.

Gatherer Gone: In search of Vu'an, the Sarentu reaches the camp where Lurei is performing music: she is surprised that Vu'an has not returned yet, because she really appreciates her performances, and instructs where to look for the gatherer.
Lost and Found: Lurei has been noticing Sky People moving boxes out of a nearby cave, and wants the Sarentu to investigate. It turns out the RDA is taking Na'vi artifacts.
