Manducus Taurus is a common Pandoran neural micro-parasite.[1]
It is common for humans to pick them up in their travels around Pandora. They must be removed before avatar linking can occur.

In the video material preceding the Flight of Passage, guests are instructed to undergo disinfection, which aims to get rid of parasites, including manducus taurus. This is required so that tourists can connect with their avatars.
Trivia[]
- "Manducus" can be translated from Latin as "eater", and "taurus" as "bull". It is possible that the parasite got its name because of its anatomical similarity to this animal, or because of its predilection for parasitizing sturmbeest.
