I'm speaking for our families. Your "plan B" means our kids wear breathing masks the rest of their lives. We don't all have an avatar escape hatch.Mary to Norm Spellman.
Mary, full name possibly Mary McCosker, is a character in the comic Avatar: The High Ground. She is the wife of Nash McCosker and the foster mother of Miles Socorro. Mary is one of the workers who stayed on Pandora when the RDA was driven out.
Biography[]

McCosker family.
Mary and her husband McCosker adopted Miles Socorro, a boy born on Pandora shortly before the battle, whose parents Paz Socorro and Miles Quaritch were killed in battle.
Although the McCoskers were Miles's official adoptive family, the boy, as he grew older, preferred spending time in the jungles of Pandora and leading a lifestyle similar to that of the Na'vi. Therefore, he willingly considered the Sully family his own, returning to the McCoskers, among others at night.
Avatar: The High Ground[]

Mary and Nash listening to Ardmore's message.
In 2168, when the RDA and the General Frances Ardmore announced their decision to return, Mary was conflicted about Jake Sully's desire to fight back against the RDA. She reminded Jake that the humans at the base are just typical human beings, not guerilla fighters. When Norm Spellman interjected, saying she was speaking for herself, Mary commented she was speaking for the families and that they don't all have an avatar escape hatch like Jake and Norm.
She and her family decided to be put on the surrender list so her family could be granted amnesty, which was over half of the people who voted. It is unknown what happened to her when the RDA took over Hell's Gate again, and if she rejoined the RDA.
