The Mature Sunrise Lantern is a pod containing dew. It can be opened with an arrow shot or with the Ikran Smash ability.

The mature pods of the sunrise lantern plant contain a sweet, tacky dew which is commonly gathered by the Na'vi. The dew can be eaten raw, or used for cooking a number of dishes. It is considered a delicious treat by the omnivorous banshee.
The sunrise lantern is uniquely adapted to thrive on the floating topology of Pandora. The plant body is a woody, rough vine that grows at higher altitudes, on the underside of rock structures. Rooting deeply into the rocky medium, each vine branches into trailing stems, terminating in flowering buds with distinctive purple or crimson pigmentation.
Once fully grown, the head of the flower detaches from the plant. Composed of a large pod shell containing feathery “pappus” and topped with a spongy and thickly petaled flower. Sodium and potassium solutions within the petal cells react, creating a weak bioelectric charge.
This bioelectric charge "tethers" the seed pod to the electrostatic field of its parent plant, which in turn clings to Pandora's strong magnetic fields via the rocks it roots on, and its own charge.
From its tethered, floating point in an invisible web of magnetic fields, the pappus seeds feely scatter in the high-altitude winds. Assuming it remains undisrupted, the seedpod can remain in the air for months before the bioelectric charge dissipates and it drifts to the ground.
Gathering and Cooking[]
Mature sunrise lantern dew is commonly found hovering above water throughout the Winding Canyons biome of the Spires. Rarer dew can be found on the lake below The Crying Mountain in the north of the Stone Tusks subregion of the Spires.
It is best gathered when it’s day. When used in a cooking dish for your ikran, it will grant Ikran Armor Recovery.
