Mist Blooms (Na'vi name: Eanfwopx) are native to rainforest and grassland regions found growing on the ground or on vines. Each is composed of a thick stem covered in waxy, purple-blue sepals to protect the plant’s core and its single crowning flower.

The mist bloom is named for its distinctive blue spores which drift from its leaves and fibrous blue petals. When disturbed by a passing creature the planimal emits a cloud of these spores, engulfing the area in a quickly dispersing mist. This evolutionary trait is the key to the Mist Bloom’s propagation as spores cling to passing animals, insects, and Na’vi, who then widely disperse the spores as they travel.

Mist blooms grow in clusters with mature plants and smaller saplings often thriving next to each other. Due to their dependence on animal spore propagation, mist blooms frequently grow along "trails" marking the well-trodden paths of local wildlife.

Na'vi Culture[]

To the Na'vi and much of Pandora's wildlife, newly discharged mist bloom spores have a strong, fresh scent and cause a cooling sensation on the skin and airways, triggering a mild analgesic reaction. Hunting Na'vi will deliberately pass through mist blooms, using the spores to soothe their aching muscles, letting them move faster as they track their prey.
