Ninat is a Na'vi mentioned in Avatar.

Biography[]

Avatar[]

Ninat is a Na'vi of the Omatikaya clan. She is mentioned by Neytiri as the best singer of the clan, suggesting her to Jake Sully as a potential mate. Jake replies, "I don't want Ninat."

She survived the destruction of the Hometree, shown by Pandora Rising artwork. She most likely survived the Battle of Ayram Alusìng as well, given there is no evidence of her being a warrior.

Avatar: Pandora Rising[]

Ninat's voice, it is said, is as clear as Polyphemus is bright. As Omatikaya clan singer, Ninat sings the praises of Eywa and brings joy to all that listen around the cook fire. Ninat also laments, and sings the prayer of the dead over her fallen Omatikaya clan members.[1]

Trivia[]

  • Young Na'vi (possibly Ninat)

    A young Na'vi (possibly Ninat).

There is an Israeli singer by the name of Ninet, and the Hebrew translations were written in a way so that it can be read both as "Ninat" and "Ninet".
  • Ninat's appearance in the game is very similar to one of Grace Augustine's former students. The ornaments on her neck and even her hairstyle look very similar, but it is unclear if it is really Ninat in the scene. It is also unclear whether Ninat was one of the students at the school.
  • "But I don't want Ninat" became a small meme in the Avatar community in early 2023 due to fans wishing to hear her voice. When fans speculate if any of the singing in the soundtracks of the series happen to be her, "I don't want Ninat" is often said, echoing the rather blunt way Jake rejects Ninat.[2] [3] [4] [5]
