Omati is a Na'vi child from the Tawkami clan. He is good friends with Nok and often taunted him about his belief in the Sky People.
He tells Nok that something had fallen from the sky and managed to sneak out of the village to find it. Nok met up with him later and discovered a machine that had fallen off a Samson, which made a group of viperwolves attack. This event marked the first contact between humanity and the Tawkami Clan. Omati hid in the bushes until Nok had defeated them and then waited at the willow tree while Nok went off in search of the captured elders.
He appeared to offer advice several times once and managed to arrive at the Distant Forest ahead of Nok; having scouted before Nok's arrival, he discovered that the Sky People had a camp closer to the village than ever before, and some strange Na'vi with them.
