Oona Castilla Chaplin is a Spanish-British actress. She portrays a Na'vi leader named Varang in the Avatar franchise.
Career[]
Chaplin is known for playing Talisa Maegyr in the TV series Game of Thrones (2012-2013), Kitty Trevelyan in the drama The Crimson Field (2014) and Zilpha Geary in the TV series Taboo (2017).
Role in the Avatar sequels[]
In June 2017, Chaplin joined the cast of Avatar, playing Varang, the leader of a Na'vi clan called the "Ash People," an aggressive volcanic clan. Varang is described as "a strong and vibrant central character who encompasses all the sequel saga." Varang will debut in Avatar: Fire and Ash in 2025, and will appear in later parts as well.[1]
