You know, there's so few of you left... oh God, I'm so sorry. Welcome to Resistance HQ! Uhh... right... sorry. Oel ngati kameie! ...What?Priya mispronouncing "I See You" in Na'vi.
Priya Chen (陈普里亞) is the leader of the Resistance's operations in the Western Frontier region of Pandora. She assists with communications within the group.
Biography[]
Born and raised in Thailand, Priya worked as a biologist. She dreamed of studying extraterrestrial life, but the first time the Resources Development Administration went to Pandora she messed up at recruitment. The second time Priya made sure she was one of the first researchers on board.
On Pandora, Priya started out cataloging botany and trying to find applications on Earth for Pandoran flora. She quickly saw past the thin veneer of RDA propaganda and grew uncomfortable with the treatment of the Na'vi. She was painfully reminded that the route the RDA was taking on Pandora was close to the path humanity had taken on Earth. She eventually became part of the Resistance and Jake Sully assigned her leadership over the Resistance's efforts in the Western Frontier.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora[]
Priya meets the Sarentu and So'lek at the entrance to Resistance HQ, screaming excitedly through the airlock, until So'lek reminds her that sound does not travel through it. After this, wait until the Na'vi enter and greet the newcomer happily. After this, Priya becomes Sarentu's main contact, contacting him/her periodically to ask for new favors to help the Resistance's cause. As a result, will find yourself involved in many tasks, both primary and secondary, including those related to her personal life.
Quests[]
- Special Delivery: Priya asks the protagonist to locate Louis de Luca.
- Tech Support: Priya asks the protagonist to check out an abandoned site with possible useful items in the Upper Plains.
Personality[]
Priya is insecure and excitable, with a tendency to blather on about topics she’s passionate about. She's in awe of life on Pandora and devastated by the RDA's destruction of it. She has no military training, and while she's awkward at times, her conviction makes her absolutely reliable. She might be nervous and awkward, but she is always ready to assist her allies.
Relationships[]
Anqa Salaam[]
Anqa is a close ally of Priya whom Priya is also implied to have romantic feelings for. In an audio log found in Resistance HQ, Priya says to Anqa, "let's hook up," before correcting herself to "I mean meet. Let's meet up." In another audio log from Anqa, she talks about a meteor shower and wanting to watch it with Priya, stating, "It's supposed to be really pretty. And that made me think of you."
Later, the Sarentu helps Anqa stage a meetup where she can confess her love to Priya, and Priya reciprocates her romantic feelings.

Trivia[]
- Her first name is of Indian origin while her surname is Chinese, suggesting she is mixed ethnicity.
- She also has blue eyes suggesting possible Caucasian descent, although there also exists a surgery in real-life called blue eye surgery where people change their eyes to blue. It is somewhat controversial today due to dangers, although Frontiers is set in the latter half of the 22nd century so it may be safer then. Priya is shown to dye her hair and has a large tattoo, showing it is possible Priya underwent an eye color change as she seems fine with altering her body.
- Priya has unnatural light purple hair. It is unknown how she maintains this color, but hair dyes are also obtainable by the player through clan contribution quests, so it is possible she gets the dye from Na'vi allies.
- The relationship between Anqa and Priya is the first same-sex relationship openly seen in the Avatar franchise. There is also idle dialogue from a female Zeswa clan member discussing wanting to speak to her female crush.
- Although not confirmed as an actual outtake or plot rewrite, recent Concept Art drop suggested that Priya was supposed to be the one witnessing the collapse of Celebration Arches with the Sarentu protagonist instead of Anqa. It may also be the only realized design of a human character, so she could have been the template-human.
