Radar Mushroom is flora and a cooking ingredient in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora found throughout the Scarlet Thicket biome of the Clouded Forest. Rarer radar mushrooms can be found near waterfalls in the most northern Scarlet Thicket biome of the Clouded Forest. Best-quality radar mushrooms can be harvested at night. [1]
Radar mushrooms are fungi native to the Clouded Forest. They grow in unique, linked clusters. [1]
A single, tall female fungal body grows in a segmented tower shape, with one bowl-like fruiting head growing out from another. This tower is surrounded by three smaller male fungal bodies, which are similarly bowl-like and grow scattered around the tower up to 20 meters away. [1]
Despite not sharing a visible means of connection, these groups possess a rudimentary collective intelligence. When all the male fungal bodies in the cluster release their spores, containing gametes, the air becomes saturated with pheromones that result in the female stalk releasing her gametes from a delicate fruiting stem. This collective action greatly increases the chance of propagation. [1]

Radar Mushroom Fruiting Stem (gatherable resource)
Radar mushrooms grow in clusters throughout the Clouded Forest, where a rich soil of rotting vegetation and damp atmospheric conditions promote growth. They always consist of the female tower body and three smaller male fungal bodies nearby. [1]
Na'vi harvests the delicate fruiting stems of the radar mushrooms for use in cooking and in the creation of several healing remedies. Na'vi have learned to trigger the release of male spores to harvest the fruiting stems, which in turn helps the mushroom prosper. Na'vi further use the flesh of the bowl-like fruit heads to create nets to capture small insects. They do this by stretching and drying out the fibrous mushrooms, then weaving them around a large, looped stick. [1]
