The Recom M69-AR, also known as the Skel M69-AR,[1] manufactured by Freeborn Ballistics, is a standard issue assault rifle specifically designed for the large frame of a Recom unit, or Skel Suit operators.
It is a fairly common weapon at the time of Avatar: The Way of Water, and can be seen used by Miles Quaritch, other Recombinants, and their RDA soldier counterparts using Skel Suits, Jake Sully, Omatikaya warriors, as well as in the Avatar: Reckoning and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora video games.

The M69-AR alongside the Y70 Bullpup Rifle has the firepower of a Browning machinegun in the hands of a Skel Suit operator.[2] Each M69-AR is chambered in .50 caliber BAT (12,7x76mm) to pack a much larger punch than smaller human-scaled weapons.[2] Moreover, each of these guns come equipped with a camera sight for better visuals and targeting.[2] The M69-AR features a secondary grip for better fire stability and boasts a long barrel for higher muzzle velocity. An underslung grenade launcher can be attached to the secondary grip, it can be used for crowd control and suppressive fire purposes.
Like the majority of the Recom weapons, it is also armed and chambered to fire a 0226-LSAR (Linkable Skel Assault Round) ammunition breaks into shards upon impact, creating severe lacerations that effectively deal with even the most heavily armored Pandoran wildlife through lethal hemorrhage.[2]

In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the M69-AR is the quintessential assault rifle. As such, it is considered a well-balanced weapon with decent damage, okay accuracy at medium to close range and plenty of ammo. An early in-game weapon, the assault rifle boasts a respectable 30 round magazine, but constant fire will decrease its accuracy substantially. So it is best to fire in short bursts to maintain the weapon's strength. As it does decent damage, it is good against small to medium-sized opponents, but would struggle against larger enemies like megafaunas and vehicles.
