The Recurve Bow or the Shortbow is a ranged weapon that the Na'vi use while riding banshees, during hunt or battle. In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the weapon made its appearance under the name of the Shortbow.

Materials and Construction[]

The Recurve Bow is formed from banshee cartilage for tensile strength. The string is made of animal gut. Its unique grip prevents hand and arm from being hit by string and allows the bow to be easily held at a horizontal angle.

In the Western Frontier, the Shortbow is an incredibly small and lightweight bow that is used to fire multiple arrows at quick succession at the expanse of having a much shorter range and weaker penetration.

In Game[]

The 'pistol' of the bow family. In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora the Shortbow provides the fastest firing rate out of all the bows at the expanse of a much reduced effective range and power. This makes it far better at smaller, group enemies than larger targets. In a sense, the Shortbow is the direct opposite of the Heavy Bow.

Like all bows, the Shortbow is incredibly versatile, being able to use a wide-variety of arrows from Hunting Arrows (Which are the basic, cheapest and easiest arrow to make), Grenade Arrows (Release a cluster of explosive grenades upon impact), and Storm Arrows (Paralyzes the target with electric shocks).
