The Skel Suit or EXO-32 Light Mobility Platform[1] is an RDA exoskeleton seen in Avatar: The Way of Water, not to be confused with the much larger and older RDA AMP Suit. It is designed as a multipurpose capability amplifier for industrial and military applications and was developed to be safely operated around unprotected humans.[2]

Specifications[]

An ultra-light mobility platform akin to the civilian Pandora Utility Suit, the Skel Suit is more akin to a motorized stilt-walker than previous models of human-piloted mech suits. The Skel Suit boasts an automated collision-avoidance system, which makes it an ideal piece of equipment for the RDA colonization effort.[2]

Unlike the AMP suit, which is heavily armored, bulkier, and fully enclosed, the Skel Suit is incredibly stripped down, which means that a Skel Suit operator would sacrifice defense for speed and agility. Despite its stripped down nature, the Skel Suit still enhances the human operator to be as tall, strong and fast as any Na'vi.[2]

The Skel Suit allows the average RDA soldier to stand at the same height as a Na'vi or avatar, as well as allowing Bridgehead's non-Recom forces to comfortably use weaponry designed for the larger frame of the RDA's successor to the Avatar Program.

When walking, force feedback is channeled from foot sensors to the operator's stirrups.[1] The high strength carbon fiber in the legs are used extensively to reduce weight, while the semi-prehensile feet can grasp terrain and roots for aggressive forest running.[1] On the SeaDragon, the internal structure of these marine 'Sea Skel' differ slightly as they are made from non-corroding stainless steel.[1]
