Sporedancers are flying creatures first seen in Avatar: Adapt or Die. They seem to be some sort of zooplantae. They can be found in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora but they lack a Hunter's Guide entry.
Anatomy[]
These flying creatures resemble insects, but if one looks closely, aspects of plant-life can also be seen: clouds of spores or pollen burst from their eyeless "heads", and their soft "legs" are more reminiscent of tentacles.
Na'vi Culture[]
Na'vi children make a game of catching them in baskets.[1] Much like butterflies on Earth, their wings are scaled and can be damaged by being touched by Na'vi hands, so they are careful around them.[2]
Trivia[]
- The filename for this creature in Frontiers of Pandora calls them a "fungal palm". However, concept art for the game calls them sporedancers.[3][4]
