The squid is a mollusc that lives in the reefs of Pandora. It has a similar appearance as Terran squids.
Anatomy[]
The squid is only a few centimeters long. It has two eyes protruding from the front of its head. Twelve tentacles allow the squid to move elegantly through the water. In the dark, its body emits a bright bioluminescent glow in yellow and orange colors. Squids may occurs in large schools of hundreds of specimens.

After Tsireya taught Tuktirey and Kiri the purpose of the Gill Mantle, Kiri encountered a school of glowing squids. She conducted the squids like an orchestra which followed every movement of her hands. This attracted the attention of Ronal, who was collecting seashells nearby and observed Kiri's doing from a distance.
Squids also played an important role in the rescue of Tuktirey and Neytiri who were trapped in a sunken SeaDragon. Kiri used a large swarm of glowing squids to find and illuminate the way to her family members in distress. She passed a gill mantle to her adoptive mother and led both to safety.
