Canon or not?[]
Hi. I'm an editor of Polish Avatar Wiki and don't know what to do with The High Ground comic. I don't know if it's officially a prequel or just an alternate script for first act of ATWOW. Some plot points of The High Ground stay in conflict with ATWOW, such as the space battle (in the movie, spacecraft land as soon as Jake notices them, but in the comic they have enough time after noticing the star to go to the space with the Na'vi, negotiate with Ardmore etc.; while the comic says nothing about mass destruction of the forests by ISV), so I'm reluctant to treat it as an official continuity and, for example, add it to characters' bios. At the same time, The Visual Dictionary mentions some events that happened in the comic (see page 44, where "low-orbit space battles" and "partial destruction of Hell's Gate" are mentioned). What are your thoughts on that, or do you have any specific info of the comic being or not being canon? Thanks,

- I can confirm it is entirely canon, and takes place in the time space between the humans returning to Pandora and the "one year later" timeskip in Avatar: The Way of Water. The High Ground ends just before the ISVs touch down on Pandora, as far as I understand. Ollympian (talk) 20:34, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot! My pretty much only doubt came from the short time that passed between noticing the star and watching the forest burn, while according to the comic a lot happened in-between. But your confirmation on the canon is highly helpful. Thanks again! Janinka11 _Tablica wiadomości_ 12:00, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
