With Avatar: Fire and Ash approaching in a couple of months and the marketing phase about to start, we are excited to present you a fresh new look for the wiki that is planned to go live when the first trailer is released. The update includes a number of visual changes to adjust the wiki to the themes of the new film, to give some elements a fresh new look and to make the site more appealing to new and old fans. Below you can learn more about the details of the upcoming changes. We provided some screenshots and a link that takes you to a demo site where you can see the new look for yourself.

New main page (light theme)

  • New logo inspired by the Fire and Ash logo
    • The logo is going to transition slowly from the current one to the new one as we get closer to release
  • A warmer color palette for many site elements, including the background, for the dark (default) and light theme alike
  • TorukSC becomes the font used for the wiki header, article titles and major headings (H2). The font has been specifically designed for the Avatar franchise and has been used for the official logos since The Way of Water and is used again for Fire and Ash.
    • In case the font cannot be loaded for some reason, it will fall back to the default font (Rubik).
  • New main page
    • The left/main column has three purposes:
      • It lets visitors dive deep into the franchise by exploring through categories and finding interesting articles.
      • New and returning fans, who might only know about the films, can get an overview of the continuously growing Avatar franchise. It is meant to make people curious about all the other aspects of the franchise they may not have heard about, like the comics or shows.
      • Featured characters and articles that take you directly to the most frequently visited and interesting articles.
    • The right column contains basic info about the wiki, news and links to official socials and websites and other major Avatar communities.
  • All tophat templates have been completely redesigned and will share a common appearance. In case you are wondering: Tophat templates are the boxes or notes you can find at the top of articles (or sections within an article) that typically inform about the status of the article/section.
  • Thumbnails, gallery images and their captions get a subtle, semi-transparent background color with slightly rounded corners.
  • Some minor visual issues are fixed that only affect a specific theme or platform (e.g. light theme or mobile).
