Woai was always a curious child who cherished her grandma's stories of adventure and dreamed of seeing the furthest reaches of the grasslands. But, due to his own traumas, her father has tried to keep her away from the direhorse and closer to the protective zakru. Seeing Woai grow bored with the repetitive tasks of zakru care, her grandfather Kìn took her under his wing and taught her dairy craft, a more creative activity. But though the art of dairy was meant as a compromise between her interests and her father's wishes, Woai remains unconvinced.

Her and Wu'ati are the only known Na'vi in the entire Avatar franchise whose names begins with the letter W.
In background chatter within The Circle, NPCs can occasionally be overheard discussing Woai's curds: "Do not tell her I said this, but Woai's curds are much too crumbly."
