Zureyn was the clan's best hunter when Raven's parents arrived in the Anurai region. Judging by the diary entries, the strangers managed to get along with most of the children, but Zureyn's daughter, Liani, seemed dissatisfied with something.
When the RDA learned of the Anurai's sacred relic, Zureyn told Raven's parents to take it away so that it would not fall into the hands of the Sky People. He himself stayed behind to cover their retreat and eventually reunited with Eywa. Raven's parents complied with Zureyn's request: the relic was safely hidden in the center of the Anurai Valley power region for many years, although in the end the other Anurai decided that strangers had stolen it, unaware of the full truth.
Only many years later, Raven, following in their parents' footsteps, was able to reveal the truth.
